SpaceX Launches 24 Starlink Satellites, Lands Rocket on Ship at Sea

Cape Canaveral, Florida — SpaceX successfully launched another batch of its Starlink internet satellites on Thursday, marking yet another step in expanding its growing global broadband network. The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Florida’s Space Coast carrying 24 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit.

Moments after completing its primary mission, the Falcon 9 booster returned to Earth, performing a precise touchdown on one of SpaceX’s autonomous drone ships stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. The landing highlighted the company’s continued success in reusability — a cornerstone of SpaceX’s strategy to reduce the cost of spaceflight.

This mission adds to the more than 6,000 Starlink satellites already launched, as SpaceX pushes forward with plans to provide high-speed internet access around the world, including remote and underserved regions.

The booster used in this mission had flown multiple times before, showcasing SpaceX’s record of reusing rockets to drive down costs and increase launch frequency. The company has now achieved well over 300 booster landings, setting a standard for reliability in orbital launches.

SpaceX’s Starlink service has already gained millions of subscribers globally, and the network continues to expand as new satellites join the constellation. With each successful launch and landing, SpaceX strengthens both its commercial spaceflight dominance and its vision of a connected planet.
