The engineering programme at MIT is still ranked first among undergraduate engineering programmes at a doctoral university, as it has in previous years. Additionally, five out of ten engineering specialties had victories for the Institute.

Stanford University, Georgia Tech, UC Berkeley, and Caltech round up the top five institutions for undergraduate engineering programmes overall.
The four areas of computer science in which MIT excelled were theory, computer systems, programming languages, and biocomputing/bioinformatics/biotechnology. It came in the top five of five disciplines: software engineering (co-achieved with Stanford and UC Berkeley), data analytics/science, mobile/web apps, cybersecurity (shared with Carnegie Mellon University), and artificial intelligence.
In terms of overall rankings for undergraduate computer science programmes, Carnegie Mellon, Stanford, UC Berkeley, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign round out the top five institutions.
The MIT Sloan School of Management is the industry leader in analytics, production/operations management, and quantitative analysis/methods among undergraduate business specialties. In three additional categories—finance, supply chain management, and entrepreneurship—it also finished in the top five.
The University of Pennsylvania has the highest-ranked undergraduate business programme overall, while UC Berkeley, the University of Michigan at Ann Arbour, New York University, and the University of Texas at Austin round out the top five universities.
