Severe Weather Causes Flash Floods in Bucks County and York

Washington Crossing, PA - Severe weather caused flash flooding in Bucks County and York County on Saturday, July 15. The storms dumped up to 7 inches of rain in some areas, causing rivers and streams to overflow their banks.

 

In Bucks County, the flooding was particularly bad in the towns of Washington Crossing and Upper Makefield Township. Several cars were swept away by the floodwaters, and five people were killed. Two children are still missing.

 

In York County, the flooding caused damage to several homes and businesses. Several roads were also closed due to flooding.

 

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for parts of eastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey. The watch is in effect until 11:00 p.m. tonight.

 

Officials are urging residents to stay safe and avoid driving through flooded areas.
