Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's Divorce: What's the Latest?

It's been seven years since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, and their legal battle is still ongoing. However, there are some recent developments that suggest a resolution may be in sight.

In October 2022, Jolie's former business Nouvel countersued Pitt for more than $250 million in damages, claiming that Pitt had been "waging a vindictive war" against Jolie since their 2016 divorce. The documents alleged that Pitt had "masterminded a so-far-successful plan" to control Château Miraval, the French winery that the couple co-owns.

In response to the countersuit, Pitt's lawyers filed a motion to dismiss, arguing that Nouvel's claims were "meritless" and "an attempt to extort money from Mr. Pitt." A hearing on the motion is scheduled for February 2023.

In addition to the legal battle over Château Miraval, Jolie and Pitt are also still working to finalize their divorce settlement. In recent months, there have been reports that the two have been meeting with a mediator in an attempt to reach an agreement.

It is unclear how long the mediation process will take, but it is a positive sign that Jolie and Pitt are finally working together to resolve their differences. If they are able to reach a settlement, it would bring an end to a long and difficult chapter in their lives.
