There are "more terminals on the way" for Elon Musk's commercial internet network called Starlink, he says. The network has been set up in Ukraine.
Musk's SpaceX currently has thousands of Starlink satellites in space, enabling businesses to beam broadband services around the globe without the use of fiber-optic connections. The satellites might keep Ukraine online if Russia's assaults harm the country's internet infrastructure.
Musk took action after Ukraine's First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, asked him for help on Saturday, as Ukraine fought off an invasion and continued cyberattacks from Russian forces in Ukraine.
Fedorov stated directly to Musk in a tweet: "While you are attempting to colonise Mars, Russia is attempting to annex Ukraine!" While your rockets successfully land in orbit, Russian rockets hit the civilian population of Ukraine! We request that you furnish Ukraine with Starlink stations and direct rational Russians to take a stand. "
Musk responded as follows: "Starlink is now active in Ukraine. More terminals are en route. "
