Elon Musk's Efforts to Fix Humanitarian Crises — and Their Status

Musk-led electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla has become the fifth firm in the United States to reach the $1 trillion mark, after Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, and Alphabet.

Elon Musk, whose fortune recently surpassed $300 billion, announced on Friday his intention to create a new university in the United States named the "Texas Institute of Technology and Science."

"I'm considering founding a new university called the Texas Institute of Technology and Science," Musk wrote in a tweet.

A Twitter user inquired whether money had been obtained, to which Musk responded, "Funding secured," adding that the event would feature "awesome merchandise."

"You should make it tuition-free and promise high-achieving graduates work at Tesla or SpaceX," a Twitter user said.

"If you're not a believer in higher education, why would you create a university?" another person said.

Musk reportedly told an audience member at the 'Satellite 2020' conference in Washington DC that college was unneeded since "you can learn anything for free."

"I believe that college is primarily for enjoyment and demonstrating that you can handle your responsibilities, but not for learning," Musk stated.

Additionally, he stated that he hopes to ensure that his electric car business Tesla does not require university degrees for employment, "because that is silly."

Musk-led electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla is the fifth US business to reach the trillion-dollar mark, joining Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, and Alphabet.

The rally occurred following the announcement by Hertz, a US-based rental car firm, that it has placed an order for 100,000 Tesla vehicles (worth at least $4.2 billion) by the end of 2022, as part of an ambitious strategy to electrify its fleet.

The initiative includes the installation of new EV charging infrastructure throughout the company's global activities.
