Canada has launched an investigation into Tesla's heating system in response to consumer complaints, according to Reuters. The country's vehicle safety agency launched an investigation into the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y's heating systems on Thursday.
The measure comes in response to 16 consumer complaints over the functioning of these electric cars' heating systems in cold weather.
Transport Canada, the country's automotive safety regulator, expressed concern that a malfunctioning heating and air conditioning system could result in windshield defogging or defrosting, impairing driver visibility.

On a busy roadway, something like that may spell disaster for the inhabitants.
"When a corporation becomes aware of a fault that could jeopardise a person's safety, it is required to notify Transport Canada and all current owners.
Generally, these letters are referred to as "safety recalls." The agency stated in a statement. Additionally, the agency stated that it has notified Tesla of the probe.
Intriguingly, Tesla CEO Elon Musk stated in 2020 that the Model Y heat pump features some of the best engineering he has ever seen.
However, in recent years, a number of Tesla car owners in Canada have complained about their vehicles' heat pumps failing during exceptionally cold conditions. They have reported that the heating issues persisted even after Tesla replaced broken sensors in heat pumps in select Model 3 and Model Y vehicles from 2020 to 2021.
While Canadian officials are examining the matter, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the United States has yet to declare any action.
The latest probe could result in a recall of the impacted Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, the EV manufacturer's two best-selling models.
