Tesla's Cybertruck is planned to contain a number of innovative features, including a reasonably long range for a vehicle of this size. Despite several delays, interest in the Cybertruck remains high. It is planned to debut with quality hardware in a variety of configurations, including a class-leading quad-motor system.
The Cybertruck was originally scheduled to enter production later this year, but the company's website removed the 2022 production date earlier this month, implying that it has been postponed yet further. Recent photographs reveal that its design has been slightly altered to make it street-legal, while the majority of the original design remains intact.
The Cybertruck was initially anticipated to be available with a single, dual, or triple motor configuration. Elon Musk has recently confirmed that a quad-motor model will be available, which is currently likely to be the top-of-the-line type. While Tesla and Musk have not disclosed the exact battery specifications for the future truck, the company has stated that the triple-motor model will travel 500 miles on a single charge. The dual-motor vehicle is expected to travel 300 miles between charges, while the entry-level single-motor variant is predicted to travel approximately 250 miles. Meanwhile, the business revealed that each model will come equipped with a 250-kW charging cord.
'Tank Turn' And 'CrabWalk'
While the majority of the Cybertruck's specifications remain unknown, Elon Musk has revealed several of the vehicle's standout features via his tweets. Musk stated in December during one of these tweetstorms that the Tesla Cybertruck would receive the so-called 'CrabWalk' capability, which will enable it to walk diagonally. Additionally, he had previously stated that the vehicle will be capable of turning on the spot, much like a tank. GMC originally demonstrated the CrabWalk feature on its Hummer Electric Vehicle last year, while the Rivian R1T truck first demonstrated the 'Tank Turn' feature in 2019.
Speaking of the Hummer EV and Rivian R1T, these will be two of the Tesla Cybertruck's primary competitors when it launches. Additionally, it will face significant competition from the electric version of Chevrolet's Silverado, one of the most popular pickup trucks in the United States. Then there's the Ford F-150 Lightning, the Sierra Denali electric, and the RAM 1500 EV, which will all contribute to making the electric pickup scene in the United States one of the most fascinating and competitive in the future years.
