Tesla China launches a design competition for the Cyberquad battery pack.

With less than a year until the Cybertruck is officially launched in North America, Tesla China has announced a new design competition for the Cybertruck's much-anticipated companion, the Cyberquad.

The competition invites teams to create a battery pack that could be used in the final product.

The challenge, called the "2022 World Power Battery Conference Power Battery Integration and Management Technology Challenge," was announced on the automaker's official Weibo account in China.

The article explains that the design must incorporate the 2170 battery cell and that teams submitting concepts will collaborate. Technical experts from Tesla R & D will be on hand to give comprehensive technical support. Additionally, various industry professionals from the automotive and power cell industries will provide input on the concepts.

Teams will have until July 25 to submit their designs, with a prize pool of up to RMB 200,000 (US $35,000) up for grabs. Additionally, there is the incalculably valuable prize of maybe having your design featured in the Cyberquad.
