Stellantis refers to the Ram 1500 TRX as the truck industry's top predator. The TRX may be unmatched in drag races due to its superior power, quickness, and speed. However, it has not yet competed against electric pickup trucks. A drag race between a Ram TRX and a Rivian R1T electric truck was organised by YouTube channel The Fast Lane Truck.
Ram TRX Is A Hardcore Truck Powered By A Hellcat
Meanwhile, while the Rivian R1T lacks the imposing name of the TRX or Raptor, it delivers exhilarating straight-line performance. There is nothing beneath its hood, as Rivian placed its electric motors on each wheel for more direct propulsion. The R1T produces a maximum of 835 horsepower and 908 pound-feet of immediate torque, allowing the 7,000-pound vehicle to accelerate from 0-60 mph in a little over three seconds and complete a quarter-mile run in less than 12 seconds.
The R1T should have won the race on paper, and it did. From the start, the R1T stunned the TRX and quickly surpassed it. Interestingly, they drove the TRX to a 4.43-second sprint time, but piloted the R1T to a blistering 3.62-second time. They countered with a smaller Tesla Model Y, but the R1T proved too swift for the electric SUV.
