Rivian R1T Owner Completes First Vasectomy Powered Entirely By Truck As Power Goes Out

Rivian has already demonstrated that their vehicles are the best at launching boats into lakes. But more lately, it has been demonstrated that it is also the greatest truck to buy if the electricity goes out right before a vasectomy.

The Rivian R1T pickup covered a physician who was presented with an unusual series of occurrences. In Austin, Dr. Christopher Yang intended to perform a vasectomy on a patient. The patient came just as the electricity went off. The patient disliked rescheduling, so he was offered the world's first Rivian-powered vasectomy.

Utilizing an extension cord, the inventive doctor successfully linked his equipment to the all-electric truck. He later wrote a celebratory tweet on Twitter.

He spoke with WGLT on the concept.

"We informed the patient that we could simply reschedule the treatment, or if he was willing, we could perform the vasectomy utilising electricity from the truck.

"He too laughed heartily, and we concurred."

The R1T is equipped with multiple 110-volt power outlets, allowing anyone to have a fantastic time when camping. It also means that you can perform surgery at a moment's notice if you have a sufficiently lengthy extension cord. This means that the R1T is essentially a mobile generator, similar to a number of EVs now on the market.

Obviously, the physician does not want just any physician to attempt this without a backup plan. He had a battery-powered, handheld electrocautery equipment in case something went wrong. Although it is not as exact as the plug-in version, it would have sufficed.

The operation was completed in twenty minutes, and according to Dr. Yang, he had sufficient energy to get through it.

"I'm not sure if this [vasectomy] should be a planned use of the truck," Yang remarked, "but it's nice to have as a backup in case of an emergency."
