Elon Musk has taken to Twitter to answer some questions as Tesla strives to bring some of its most significant upcoming products to market. Among other things, he lauded the creators of Cyberpunk 2077 before assuring an interested third party that he intended to make the whole Steam catalogue compatible with all Teslas and then reneging on his pledge to include it on the Cybertruck.

In part because Tesla lacks a dedicated public relations team responsible for carefully disseminating information about new goods, Musk has a propensity for announcing such events via Twitter. As such, it's not surprising that he revealed the plan for gaming in future Tesla models via Twitter.

We're comparing the general case of running Steam games on a Tesla against the case of specific titles. "Clearly, the former is where we should be in the long run," he added. As such, do not anticipate a singular focus on a few games. Musk has made it plain that if and when this extra function becomes accessible, he intends to go large by including a catalogue that now has approximately 50,000 titles.

He also confirmed that the Cybertruck will feature Cyberpunk 2077, but did not specify a release date. This lack of specific information on what many perceive to be more pressing matters (such as initiating Cybertruck manufacturing) appears to be having an effect on Tesla devotees.

Comments on the tweets and on other internet sites such as Reddit were lukewarm, with one poster going so far as to say, "Just make the truck so I can buy it." We think people are more interested in buying real cars than playing games.

Regarding the Steam catalogue, for all we know, it may be a future endeavour while more pressing issues receive the attention they need. Clearly, full self-driving technology and NHTSA recalls have consumed a significant amount of energy in recent months. And, in the absence of fresh launches this year, customers will have to wait until at least 2023 for the Cybertruck and Semi, to say nothing of the new Roadster. Thus, it appears as though Tesla is already up against it, with or without Cyberpunk 2077.
