A new camper designed specifically for the Cybertruck features a carbon fibre box that fits between the bed walls before electronically expanding into a hard-walled tent for all-electric camping. It is being developed by a small but growing California firm called Form Camper.

Tesla's cybertruck is unique, which is why the company designed a simple rectangular box large enough to fit between the sides of practically any pickup bed. From the back, the box expands to create a separate place for staying. It will have a total floor area of 71 square feet (6.6 square metres) and will be covered by two nylon-ripstop canopies.

It operates similarly to the ioCamper and features an interior similar to the recently announced Flip90 truck camper. It will be self-contained and the vehicle will be able to go freely.

It will take five minutes to set up. A double bed will be foldable, and the kitchen will slide out. This creates additional space for expansion. Additionally, the kitchen includes a refrigerator and cabinets.

The Form camper is expected to be LPG-free due to its battery-powered design. A 400-watt solar charging system incorporated into the roof will extend battery life and off-grid autonomy. The vehicle is equipped with 189 litres of freshwater beneath the bed and a reverse-osmosis water purification system.

The frame of the model is composed of aluminium honeycomb sandwiched between carbon fibre, resulting in an anticipated dry weight of 1,000 lb (454 kg) and a tank-filled wet weight of 1,300 lb (590 kg). When packed as a box, it will measure 9.8 x 4.4 x 3.4 feet (300 x 135 x 102 cm).

The startup is promoting the product as the Cybertruck and is basing it on the F-150 and Chevy Silverado's promising design. The base model of the camper will not be compatible with the Rivian R1T due to the bed's size of 4.5 feet.

By mid-2022, the prototype will be ready. The first 500 models will be produced before the end of 2022. The rental cost will be approximately US$69,500. Preorders will receive a discount ranging from $5,000 to $20,000. The starting price will be $49,500, which will require a $10,000 deposit and will be available in numbers of up to 25 units.
