We previously revealed photos of the Tesla Cybertruck in action, complete with traditional side mirrors. We've lately heard or witnessed a few modest changes to the truck. The same Cybertruck was said to have four-wheel steering, but we can't verify that.

The internet community erupts anytime any fresh Tesla news surfaces, especially relating to the Cybertruck. People noted that the prototype had side mirrors, whereas the early prototype did not.

We need side mirrors on the Cybertruck. Teslarati claims they're required under a US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard called "Rear Visibility." The side mirrors let the driver see obstructions around the truck's sides and back.

Some automakers, including Tesla, have considered utilising camera-based side mirrors. A blind-spot camera is already in certain automobiles. Modern cars are obliged to include rearview cameras, and some rearview mirrors already project footage into the car instead of a reflection.

Tesla is recognised for future-proofing its vehicles via hardware and software updates over-the-air. Musk said the Cybertruck's side mirrors are removable. If the restrictions change in the future, owners can remove the mirrors.

Because the mirrors are easily removed, some owners may simply remove them and hope for the best.

It's like tinting your windows too dark or adding noisy exhaust pipes. People do unlawful modifications to their autos (particularly pickup trucks) and hope for the best. Some argue Musk "encourages" people to remove their mirrors, although he hasn't. People will do what they will.
