Openai is an artificial intelligence startup co-founded by Elon Musk in 2015. Karpathy said on his personal account that he was rejoining OpenAI. I am very inspired by the impact of their work and have personally benefited from it.

The creation of the company's machine learning and computer vision teams was led by Karpathy. Karpathy served as the company's Director of Artificial Intelligence by the time he left. During the event, Musk poked fun at Karpathy, who was watching the event.
