Blue Origin, the aerospace company founded by Jeff Bezos, is set to launch its 10th space tourism mission, designated NS-30, today, February 25, 2025. The liftoff is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. EST (1530 GMT) from the company's West Texas launch site.
The mission will carry six individuals on a suborbital journey, offering them a brief experience of weightlessness and remarkable views of Earth against the backdrop of space. Among the confirmed passengers are venture capitalist Lane Bess, Spanish television host Jesús Calleja, entrepreneur and physicist Elaine Chia Hyde, reproductive endocrinologist Dr. Richard Scott, and hedge fund partner Tushar Shah. The identity of the sixth passenger has not been publicly disclosed.
Notably, Jesús Calleja will become the first non-astronaut Spaniard to journey into space, marking a significant milestone for Spain. Telecinco has organized special programming to broadcast the event live, starting at 3:45 p.m. CET, with the launch expected at 4:30 p.m. CET.
This flight represents the 30th overall mission for New Shepard, Blue Origin's reusable rocket-capsule system, and the 10th to carry human passengers. The entire experience lasts approximately 10 to 12 minutes from liftoff to capsule touchdown, during which passengers will cross the Kármán line, the internationally recognized boundary of space located 62 miles (100 kilometers) above Earth's surface.
For those interested in witnessing this milestone event, Blue Origin will provide a live webcast of the launch, beginning 35 minutes prior to liftoff.
