The mother-daughter duo, Keisha Schahaff and Anastatia Mayers, are from Antigua and Barbuda. Keisha is a real estate agent and Anastatia is a student at the University of West Indies. They are the first people from Antigua and Barbuda to go to space.
The former Olympian, Jon Goodwin, is from the United Kingdom. He competed in canoeing at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. He is the first former Olympian to go to space. He is also the second person with Parkinson's to go to space.
The flight took off from Spaceport America in New Mexico and reached an altitude of 55 miles (88 kilometers). The passengers experienced a few minutes of weightlessness and were able to see the curvature of the Earth.
The flight was a success and marked a major milestone for Virgin Galactic. The company is now one step closer to commercializing space tourism.
