China Successfully Tests New Engine for Crewed Moon Rocket

Beijing, China - China successfully tested a new engine for its crewed moon rocket on Saturday, a major step forward in the country's plans to land astronauts on the lunar surface by 2030.

The engine, which is called the YF-100M, is a kerosene-liquid oxygen rocket engine that has a thrust of 130 metric tons. It was tested at a facility in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, and successfully completed a multiple-ignition test.

The test is a major milestone for China's space program, as it shows that the country is making progress on its plans to send astronauts to the moon. The YF-100M will be the main engine of the Long March 10 rocket, which is the vehicle that will be used to transport astronauts to the moon.

The Long March 10 is a three-stage rocket that is about 88.5 meters tall and has a liftoff weight of 2,187 metric tons. It is the most powerful rocket that China has ever built, and it is capable of carrying a spacecraft weighing at least 27 tons to an Earth-moon transfer trajectory.

The successful test of the YF-100M is a major boost for China's space program, and it brings the country one step closer to its goal of landing astronauts on the moon.
