Jack Dorsey criticises Elon Musk and claims he should have walked away from the Twitter deal.

Almost a year after stating that Mr Musk is the "singular solution" he trusts to run the website, Jack Dorsey seems to have changed his mind. The former CEO of Twitter said on Friday that Mr Musk has not proved to be the ideal steward of the platform and should have walked away from buying it. Mr Musk was the subject of a series of reply posts by Mr Dorsey on the social network Bluesky.

He was asked by a Bluesky user if he thought Mr Musk was the best possible steward. No. I don't think he acted right after he realized his timing was bad. I don't think the board should have forced the sale. All went south. All we can do is build something to prevent that from happening again. "I'm happy Jay and team and nostr devs exist and building it."

Mr Musk should have walked away from the board if he had paid 1 billion dollars. If anyone wanted to buy the company, all they had to do was name a price that the board felt was better than what the company could do independently. This is true for all public companies. I was positive.

I didn't have final say. He thinks he should have left and paid the $1b. Further, responding to a post in which a user said, "It's pretty sad how it all went down," Mr Dorsey replied simply: "Yes." "Elon is the singular solution I trust" was what Mr Dorsey said when he said that if the company had to be a company at all.

I don't believe anyone should own or run it. It wants to be a public good, not a company. The problem of it being a company is solved by Elon. I trust his mission to extend the light of consciousness.
