Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and a frequent Twitter user, launched a poll on the microblogging site on Friday, asking his 79 million followers for their thoughts on free speech and social media.

Musk asked his Twitter followers if they thought Twitter "rigorously" conforms to the premise that free expression is necessary for a functioning democracy.
"A successful democracy requires free expression. Do you think Twitter follows this rule to the letter?" Musk posed the question on Twitter, offering yes or no answers.

The 50-year-old urged his admirers to consider their responses carefully since the "consequences of this poll" will be significant.
The poll has received over 19 lakh votes and 117.6 thousand likes so far.

The billionaire has aimed his guns at Twitter for the second time in two days. Musk had questioned his fans earlier this week if the Twitter algorithm should be open source.

Users will be able to examine the format or digital structure used by Twitter when determining what to show them on their microblogging feed thanks to open-source algorithms.

The founder of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, who stood down as the microblogging site's CEO in November 2021, responded to Musk's post by saying that the "option of whatever algorithm to employ (or not) should be accessible to everyone."

Musk is well-known for his dislike of social media, particularly Twitter, and has frequently used the microblogging medium to vent his frustrations. Let's watch what happens after Musk's polling decision.
