The HQ has beds, wardrobes, washing machines. After Musk took over the platform, there was a noticeable shift in work culture. The building is being investigated as a commercial building because of the new makeshift hotel-cum-office.

He wanted the employees to be available round the clock and demanded longer working hours. A photo of an employee resting in a sleeping bag on the dining floor went viral. Recliners set up as beds are among the newest amenities at the micro-blogging site. While reacting to the photos, Musk said that he slept on a couch in the library.

For the ongoing investigation against the building for violating rooms, Musk clapped back at the city. Companies that provide beds for tired employees are attacked by the city of SF. Where are your priorities? The building can't be used as a residential property because it's a commercial one. The communications director for the city's Building Inspection department said that they need to make sure the building is being used as intended. Short-term stays in residential buildings are subject to different building code requirements. ”
