Will 2022 be the year of the Cybertruck?

In 2022, how many Cybertrucks will Tesla sell?

Is the year 2022 the year of the Cybertruck?

Tesla has previously stated that the Cybertruck's dual-motor AWD variant would enter production in late 2021, followed by the single-motor version in late 2022. However, engineering delays, combined with COVID-related and most likely supply-chain issues, have resulted in a one-year delay to the end of 2022 for the initial launch.

Additionally, Elon Musk recently announced that a new quad-motor version of the vehicle will be added and will be the vehicle's initial variant upon debut in late 2022.

Tesla revealed at its 2019 unveiling event in Los Angeles that the single-motor Cybertruck would start at $39,900 before incentives. The dual-motor variant will start at $49,900, while the tri-motor version will cost $69,900. We're estimating the new quad motor offering will start between $69,900 and $79,900, but that's just a guess given that Tesla recently pulled all Cybertruck pricing and specifications from its website, meaning the prices and configurations indicated above are subject to change.

According to reports, the vast majority of pre-orders have been placed for the twin motor and tri-motor models. This has fueled rumours that Tesla would discontinue offering the low-cost single-motor option. Perhaps the addition of a quad-motor version indicates that the Cybertruck with a single motor will never see manufacturing.

The poll has four options: 0 to 500, 501 to 1500, and more than 1500. These may appear to be extremely dismal forecasts, but the Cybertruck has numerous obstacles if it is to begin production this year.

To begin, we are unsure whether Tesla has finalised every facet of the CyberTruck. The recent video of a prototype Cybertruck had an absurdly big wiper, which Elon has stated will not be included in the production version – indicating that this critical component may not be finalised just yet.

Additionally, Tesla is experimenting with materials like as ultra-hard 30X cold-rolled stainless steel, which neither they nor any other carmaker has used previously. Additionally, they are doing so in a brand-new production facility scheduled to debut this year. All of these considerations contribute to Cybertruck manufacturing being extremely limited - if it occurs at all - in 2022.

Aanticipate Tesla will make a few this year and hold a ceremonial handover event in November or December, but that overall production in 2022 will be less than 100. As a reservation holder, I sincerely hope I am incorrect, but only time will tell.

What are your best guesses? Head over to the poll and vote, and don't forget to give your guess in the tweet's reply section. The closest guess will receive a 40-amp charging station from me personally. In exactly one year, we'll revisit this post and discuss the outcome.
