Rivian's R1T electric pickup is one of the top 16 finalists in the Makers Madness bracket-style contest, which pits online voters against one another to determine what they believe is the coolest thing made in Illinois.
The Normal-built Rivian truck is up against the Montgomery, Illinois-based Jackpoint Jackstands in the latest round of voting. The latest round of voting concludes on Sunday.
The contest was founded by the Illinois Manufacturers' Association (IMA) to recognise the efforts of manufacturers throughout the state.

While it is time to restrict the field, each nominee for the Coolest Thing Made in Illinois deserves to be recognised for their creativity, ingenuity, and innovation, said Mark Denzler, president and CEO of the Illinois Manufacturers Association. "Manufacturers are truly the engine of our state's economy, and we want to express our gratitude to the tireless men and women on our factory floors who work every day to improve the world."
The competition, presented by Comcast Business, features four brackets with two rounds of competition. Over 100,000 votes have been cast thus far, narrowing the field of 400 nominees to the Top 16. The current round of voting will determine which of the top 8 finalists will advance further in the competition.
The Coolest Thing Made in Illinois winner will be announced on April 27. The challenge will be followed by an awards ceremony at the Governor's Mansion on April 27. The public can vote at makersmadnessil.com until Sunday at 11:59 p.m. Each one-on-one matchup allows voters to cast one vote every day.
Each week, votes will be cast and reset to zero at the start of each round.
