Over two years after its debut, the Tesla Cybertruck remains as divisive as ever. While sceptics continue to say that the vehicle is simply too "ugly" or "weird" to be successful, the Cybertruck continues to pique the interest of a large number of people. The most recent appears to be known podcast presenter Joe Rogan, who was fortunate enough to get a close look at the car.
And, as it turns out, Rogan, like the thousands of individuals who had reserved the car, fell in love with the angular, distinctively formed truck. Rogan enthused about the Cybertruck in a Facebook post that included multiple images of the vehicle, describing it as the "coolest car I've ever seen in my life." Additionally, he referred to the vehicle as "insanely gorgeous in person" and a "big leap into the future."
Rogan's remarks are remarkable in light of the fact that he owns multiple excellent automobiles. Surprisingly, several of Rogan's greatest possessions, including his 1965 Corvette Sting Ray convertible, 1969 Chevy Nova by Steve Strope, and a 1970 Cuda nicknamed the "Sick Fish," are painted in a tint reminiscent of the Cybertruck's steel exoskeleton. Needless to say, a Cybertruck appears to be a possibility for Rogan's garage in the future as well.
Elon Musk all but confirmed the Cybertruck's delay until 2023 during Tesla's latest Q4 and FY 2021 earnings call. Musk did warn, though, that the primary impediment to the Cybertruck's deployment will likely not be battery scarcity.
"Batteries are unlikely to represent a bottleneck in Cybertruck production. The Cybertruck contains a plethora of novel technologies that will require time to integrate. And then there's the matter of how much does Cybertruck cost on average, and to what extent is it affordable? You have the ability to create whatever you want. However, if it is not affordable, it will limit people's capacity to purchase it due to a lack of funds.
I'm more concerned with how we keep the Cybertruck inexpensive despite its incredible technology. That is the factor that will ultimately determine the rate. Aspirationally, we'd like Cybertruck to reach a volume of at least [indiscernible] vehicles per year. However, it will take some time for us to reach that level, "Musk stated.
