The Tesla Semi completed a 500-mile journey weighing 81,000 pounds.

 The CEO of the electric vehicle maker is promoting the upcoming Class 8 all-electric truck on social media. Based on Musk's recent posts, it appears that the Semi is ready to work for its customers, as the team recently completed a 500-mile journey with the vehicle weighing in at 81,000 pounds. Musk wrote this weekend that theTesla team just completed a 500-mile drive with a Semi weighing in at 81,000 lbs.

 Electric vehicle advocates shared their excitement for the feat after Musk posted his post. TheTesla Semi is one of the company's most delayed products, as well as one of the ones that received the most doubt. The long-haul trucking segment is completely different from the consumer vehicle market. Some trucking veterans have doubts about the all-electric Class 8 truck. The Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler Truck AG Martin Daum commented that the Class 8 truck and its targets violate the laws of physics after the Semi was unveiled.

If it happens, we will buy two trucks, one to take apart and one to test, because if that happens, something has passed us by. The laws of physics are the same in Germany and California. During the Q3 2022 earnings call, Musk and Kirkhorn made it a point to highlight the 500-mile range of the Semi when it is loaded with cargo. Musk expects the company to aim for a production rate of 50,000 units per year in North America. One of the largest Class 8 truck makers in the United States will be made by the EV maker.
