The Rivian R1T is liked by Throttle House, yet it has flaws.

While the R1T does a lot of things really well, Rivian’s lack of experience does show in some areas.

Rivian accomplished a remarkable feat by being the first business to introduce an electric pickup truck with the performance, range, technology, and off-road capability that buyers demand. It's not marketed as a utilitarian vehicle, but rather as a fun, green lifestyle vehicle, and all of the reviews so far indicate that it delivers on the driver enjoyment front.

Throttle House seemed to have had a great time driving the R1T for this video review. When driven swiftly on twisting paved roads, the R1T proved remarkably planted, surefooted, and tactile, but when the asphalt ended, the R1T transformed into a rally car, sliding its tail out with ease through corners.

And it's all very manageable, thanks to the fact that you can feel what the front tyres are doing. Indeed, they claim that one of the most pleasantly surprise aspects of the driving experience was the road feel through the wheel, which is superior to that of any truck or even a Tesla.

While the R1on- T's and off-road performance and capability are impressive, some of the interior details aren't. It's here that the two hosts have the most to complain about, from the sluggish steering wheel adjustment to the fact that Android Auto and Apple CarPlay can't be used on the infotainment screen. They also discovered that the route calculator is inaccurate in forecasting your arrival time, and that relying on it will almost certainly result in you being late.

Nonetheless, these are minor annoyances in a vehicle that is otherwise exceptionally well made, conceived, and rounded. Below is a video of our own first drive review of the R1T.
