On Friday in Washington, Tesla CEO Elon Musk met with Senior Advisor to President Joe Biden, John Podesta, and Senior Advisor Mitch Landrieu to discuss electric vehicle adoption and progress in the United States.

According to a senior White House official, Podesta and Landrieu met with Musk to discuss "shared goals around electrification" and how recently passed legislation such as the Inflation Reduction Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act can help to increase electric vehicle adoption in the United States.
According to the spokeswoman, topics of discussion included expanding electric vehicle production, charging infrastructure, and "the greater cause of electrification."

Interestingly, the White House revealed last year that Tesla, Musk's business that catalysed the worldwide EV movement, was planned to create new charging technology that would "allow non-Tesla EV users in North America to use Tesla Superchargers."
Late last week, it was announced that Tesla was developing a "Magic Dock" that would allow non-Tesla EVs to charge at Superchargers around the United States.

With over 40,000 charging stations worldwide, Tesla has the most extensive EV charging network. However, it is exclusively available to Tesla owners in the United States, and after a year and a half of deploying a Pilot Program in Europe, the automaker may be ready to extend its charging infrastructure to other companies.
Musk, Landrieu, and Podesta did not remark on the meeting when they were seen afterwards.
