Rivian had a successful conclusion to 2021 before faltering in the first quarter of 2022. The stock of Rivian has fallen, along with people's confidence in the company, as a result of production hiccups, supply chain issues, and price increase mistakes. Rivian's initial intention to construct 3,500 charging stations by the end of next year now seems to be changing.

The network of Superchargers that Tesla possesses is one of its biggest advantages. That Rivian desired to build its own charging network and give it the name Rivian Adventure Network is understandable. By the end of 2023, 3,500 charging stations would have been installed under the ambitious plan launched two years prior at 600 places across the United States and Canada. Up until you learn that Rivian only succeeded in installing its charging stations at three locations in Colorado and California, everything seems fantastic.

Not only that, but Rivian reportedly deleted any references to the earlier date from its website, according a tweet by Phillip.png (@pmsyyz). It appears like Rivian is no longer committed to constructing every single charging station by the end of 2023. Customers' expectations for Rivian Adventure Network must be reduced, just like with R1T production and deliveries.

It is obvious that Rivian does not believe that all of those charging stations can be constructed by the end of the next year. Given the small amount of Rivian vehicles on the road at the moment, they might do it more slowly or not at all. According to the most recent production report, Rivian delivered about 2,500 vehicles, many of which went to their own staff.

Although there was no real need for those charging stations, they were nevertheless good to have given all the features of an R1T electric pickup truck. As you are aware, Rivian builds its vehicles with a CCS charging port, making them compatible with the great majority of external charging stations.
