Tesla's updated Cybertruck and Semi prototypes made an unusual appearance at the Michigan International Speedway recently. While the Semi's intimidating presence was evident at the event, it was the Cybertruck's wiper blade — specifically, its absence — that piqued the interest of several EV enthusiasts online.
Last month, the updated Cybertruck prototype made an appearance at the Michigan International Speedway. The vehicle was first seen during the May round of the Formula SAE competition, in which university and graduate students competed. According to Tesla's Instagram page, another round of races took place this week.
"This week, 20 Tesla-sponsored student electric vehicle teams compete in the Formula SAE races." "Tesla provided teams with battery cells or discounts, mentorship, and design reviews, allowing more teams to compete in the EV division than ever before," Tesla wrote.

While Tesla's Instagram post was primarily about its Formula SAE contributions, the company also shared videos of its updated Cybertruck and Semi prototypes that were brought to the event. The company's photos showed that its upcoming vehicles drew a lot of attention because they simply looked futuristic.
This was true even though there were other compelling, modern electric vehicles on display at the event. The official Facebook page of Formula SAE revealed that several new electric cars, including the Rivian R1T and the Lucid Air, were in attendance. Even among these vehicles, one cannot help but be drawn to the Cybertruck and the Semi.

Surprisingly, the updated Cybertruck prototype did not include a physical wiper this time around. Tesla's wipers for the updated Cybertruck prototype have been spotted with wipers that appeared to be intended for the Semi, a single large wiper, and a small, seemingly extendable wiper in recent months.
It should be noted that the original prototype of the Cybertruck did not have any wipers, leading to speculation that the company may investigate some unconventional solutions for the all-electric pickup truck's wipers. However, based on the varying physical wipers seen in the updated Cybertruck prototype, it appears that Tesla is still exploring options for the vehicle's production components.
