During his opening remarks at the Q3 2022 earnings call, Musk made it a point to highlight that his company is already in the final lap for the Cybertruck. The Cybertruck was listed in the company's Q3 2022 Update Letter as a vehicle that was already in its "tooling" phase. Images of Cybertruck bodies being moved through Texas were shared online days after the earnings call. The Cybertruck was obvious from the size and shape of the bodies.

There are a few images of the Cybertruck inside. At least until now. An image of a Cybertruck body with its apparent single-piece rear megacast was recently shared online. Kim Java, who is an EV advocate, shared the photo on YouTube and noted that the image was taken in Texas. The photograph was taken from the rear of the vehicle, and it shows what appears to be two main parts of the Cybertruck. One looked like a megacast and the other was hydroformed. There are a number of interesting details in the rear megacast.

The Cybertruck's rear requires a casting that's bigger than those used in the Model Y, according to Musk. The Cybertruck has to be capable of carrying a lot of weight, and it has to be the largest casting machine available, because it is a large vehicle with a long truck bed. The single-piece megacast for the Cybertruck's rear is the largest one yet. There was an apparent absence of a folding midgate in the recent Cybertruck image. This was a disappointment for some people, as they were looking forward to the feature.

A folding midgate and folding rear seats were both mentioned in a patent from last year. The patent made the Cybertruck a great camping vehicle. If the recent image of the Cybertruck is any indication, this won't be the case. There is still a lot of doubt from skeptics who believe that the Cybertruck is just vaporware that will never get released, updates from Giga Texas and the growing number of images of the all-electric pickup truck in Tesla's facilities suggest that the vehicle is indeed closing in. In the Q3 2022 earnings call, the company confirmed that Giga Texas is on track to start early Cybertruck production in the middle of the next decade.
