From Italy, IDRA's 9,000-ton Cybertruck Giga Casting equipment is travelling to Tesla Giga Texas.

IDRA Group said that the Cybertruck Giga Press is packed and ready to go from their facility in Italy. There were reports earlier this month that the massive casting machine had arrived in the US. A photo of a large plywood box stamped with their logo was shared by IDRA as part of their announcement.

The box does not represent the entire casting machine, but we can see some of the parts in the right box. IDRA shared a photo of five people standing inside a piece of the Cybertruck Giga Press to get an idea of how big it is. It was reported a few weeks ago that the Giga Press had arrived in the US. The shipping manifest uncovered by Alex showed IDRA had shipped 54 pieces weighing in at 77,562 kilograms to the recipient.

It's possible that IDRA shipped something other than the Giga Press to the US, or that they just sent the larger pieces to the US. It is unlikely that this is a second Cybertruck Giga Press because production isn't slated to start until mid-2023, meaning a significant ramp won't happen until well into 2024. As we get closer to the official start of production, the company is taking significant steps.

Two Cybertruck bodies have been spotted at Giga Texas recently, and the automaker announced in its Q3 2022 shareholder deck that the electric truck has moved from "in development" to "tooling".
